Vacation and Volleyball
We just returned last night from a great 9 day vacation in Orlando. 4 days of amazing volleyball with the kids placing 3rd out of 151 teams at the AAU National Tournament. The games were amazing and my niece Lo, who lives in Orlando came with me to watch games. She also provided free passes into Disney....thank you Roland. We drove all over the countryside. Visited some beautiful beaches (no oil in Florida) and had a great time. NOW BACK TO PAINTING!

She knew my Dad
A long-time friend from High School just purchased my painting "Camp Out" I have held on to that painting for many years because it reminded me of my Dad. We used to go camping at this beautiful lake in the Cascade mountians of Oregon, Little Cultus Lake, and my Dad would tell scary bear stories around the campfires. My Sis and I were safe from the bears as we had heard the stories many times, but many of our visiting friends were terrified. I painted "Camp Out" as a study in illumination and when I thought I was finished, I realized it looked like a campfire in the middle of the woods and I had no choice but to paint in the bears. Actually they were probably listening to the stories also. It's nice to know the painting now lives with someone who knew my Dad.

ScentChips, New Hanging Space in Georgetown
Along with my 3 friends, Nancy Brandt Brown, Charlotte Sylvest and Pat Langley, a new hanging space in Georgetown is opening up start June. This should be fun hanging along with my friends. We hung the first show yesterday and the owner of Scentchips, Janet Dixon is so helpful and excited. We are going to be able to use this space exclusively and that gives us so much leeway for show colors, series, etc. This should be fun. Janet is involved with Georgetown groups that are making a serious effort to bring more quality art to the city. Keep posted for our Grand Opening. Scentchips is open for First Friday's in Georgetown so we will be there tonight for the fun! Janet claims she even has some homemade wine.
Award at Waterloo Spring Exhibit
