Demo/Critique Class at Nan's

Monday's exercise was a demo "Out of the Box"    I tried to do a water scene with pearlesent and irridesent colors.  That was a challenge.   Looks great at night however.

A Few Changes

Some final editing........and Beach Finds is finished.   I might just keep the title.   It's obvious that this is something that can be found at "some" beaches.   Corrections from painting below.   Line work in upper large wave area.   It was too flat so I gave it some action.

Nancy Brown and I painted this picture together.   If you know  her work and mine you might recognize who did what.   It was a class demo, subject Autumn and we tried to stay with that intention.

Flying Series "Sails"

Another in my Flying Series.    I used several iridescent pearl colors and also pearlescent opaque white blended with other pigments for the texture and colors.     Placing these fun paints next to mat finish strong opaque colors creates some fun tension.

Beach Finds 1 and 2

Both of these pictures are the same painting.  The difference is the light angle.  I have been using several new types of acrylics, luminescent and others and they  are fun to hang on the wall.  At night with indirect lighting, they take on special glows making it very important where they are placed and where the pigments are placed during the painting process.    Certain lights change the composition so care is important.

This painting "Beach Finds"  is nearly, but not quite finished.

Flying Series "Things"

Really fun painting this............I even put a volleyball in it.    Many, many, many, many, many layers.

Still working on Immersed.

This painting is still a work in progress but I think it is close to completion.    Last version needed some punch.
